The old church & the new church being build
by a group of University Students
Excerpts from 11 year old Inge-Mari Luttig's diary
of her first missionary trip to Lusikisiki:
"Tuesday, 29 June 2004 - My family and I
woke up very early. Our journey was going to be
a long way because we were off to Lusikisiki seven
hours away from Grahamstown hours later we got
to our destination - a house that has not been
build properly and isn't finished yet (church
build by students at Seleni near Lusikisiki).
In my mind I had a lot of names for this place,
but realised that this is home for about four
days. I didn't mind because our trip to Lusikisiki
wasn't for touring around but to change people.
We were there to spread the gospel.
Wednesday, 30 June 2004 - I woke from the calls
of roosters, birds and horses. I was exploring
and saw some beautiful views. I sometimes wonder
if it's so beautiful on earth, how would it be
in heaven? Wow, that should be something!
Thursday, 1 July 2004 - It got late and so we
started to put up the big screen (video projector).
Seven o'clock we divided into two groups and prayed
until eleven o'clock.. After the Jesus film my
dad spoke to them in Xhosa. After that the children
and adults sang. At that moment I was just looking
up at the sky, thinking and knowing God is almighty,
HE IS THE BEST! Then I went back to sleep."

Feedback after the outreach:
I spoke to Truda (missionary ) in Lusikisiki and
she told me all the fruit that came from our visit
to Transkei. A group of young men (last year at
school) arrived the Saturday we left. And under
the guidance of Truda and two other women the
group did discipleship courses and courses for
the children in the afternoons. Truda said that
as they did house visits the young guys would
get Word and it would be confirmed by another.
And everyone in the house will accept the Lord
as their Saviour! Sometimes they will get out
of a house and one will say he felt something
wrong in the house and it will be confirmed by
another. She also said that those young guys that
stood around at the back of the tent accepted
the Lord and that the Bible School student that's
working there at Seleni 2 can't keep up with the
demand there is to know more about the Lord. The
Jesus film prepared the way for the Word!
